Delete your Dossiera account

This page explains how to request deletion of your Dossiera account (mobile and web app) and what happens to your data. It applies to accounts created in the Dossiera app operated by M2atech Solutions Inc.
How to request deletion
1. Write to privacy@dossiera.ca from the email address associated with your account, with the subject "Account deletion". 2. We verify your identity (a confirmation is requested by return email — protection against fraudulent requests). 3. Your account is deleted within 30 days at most. You receive a written confirmation.
You can also start the request from the app (profile → contact us) or via our contact page.
What is deleted
- Your user account: profile (name, email, timezone, language), login credentials, authentication secrets (MFA), notification preferences;
- Device tokens (push notifications) and active sessions;
- Your access to any firm or company your account was attached to.
What is retained, and why
Dossiera is a document and accounting management service used by accounting firms and businesses. Some data does not belong to you personally or is subject to legal retention obligations:
- Accounting records and supporting documents (receipts, invoices, statements uploaded as part of an accounting file): the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) requires they be kept for 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to. These documents belong to the firm or company responsible for the file — they are retained under its responsibility, dissociated from your deleted account.
- Billing records for the subscription (invoices, payments): retained per applicable tax and accounting obligations.
- Security and audit logs: retained on a limited basis for security and compliance purposes.
Everything else is deleted or anonymized.
Deleting specific data without closing the account
You can request rectification or deletion of specific information without closing your account — write to privacy@dossiera.ca (Law 25 / PIPEDA). If your documents are managed by a firm, address the request to the firm first; we assist as a processor.
